B.Sc.Kin.

Peter graduated from York University in 2009 for their specialized honours degree in Kinesiology & Health Sciences. During this time, Peter was a member of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), working one-on-one with exercise clientele as a certified personal trainer and exercise fitness evaluator at a premier fitness club. Peter also gained invaluable rehab experience working as a fitness instructor for the UHN’s Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and their spinal cord outpatient program at the Lyndhurst Centre. There, Peter worked in a group setting with patients who had been affected by spinal cord injury, stroke, spinal bifida, multiple sclerosis, and other diseases. Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science degree in 2009, Peter worked as a registered kinesiologist in an outpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy clinic, providing exercises prescription and administering electrophysical modalities.

M.Sc.P.T.

Peter graduated from Queen’s University in 2012 with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. During his first clinical placement, Peter accidentally was introduced to the vestibular condition Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), when his clinical instructors called in sick, and Peter was required to shadow a vestibular physiotherapist. That experience for Peter, sparked an interest in vestibular rehabilitation therapy. Upon completion of his Master’s program, Peter had performed extensive research on BPPV, submitting a critical enquiry project on ‘Does Weekly Performance of the Self-Administered Epley Manoeuvre Reduce Recurrence in Subjects with Post-Traumatic BPPV?’

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (V.R.T.)

In 2013, Peter completed his ‘Introductory Vestibular Rehabilitation’ certification at Toronto Rehab University Centre, offered by Bernard Tonks FCAMPT. In 2015, Peter completed his ‘Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation’ certification offered by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Since then, Peter has presented on the topic of vertigo, vestibular disorders and physiotherapy to several professional settings, including the interprofessional rounds at Southlake Regional Health Centre (Newmarket, ON), Aurora Public Library events, and to several family doctor offices. He has held membership with the Vestibular Disorders Association since 2017.

FCAMPT

In December 2019, Peter graduated with a Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Division. This internationally recognized physiotherapy education diploma takes 5-6 years to complete, beyond the core university educational requirements of a physiotherapist in Canada. Peter was recognized a ‘Fellow’ of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (‘FCAMPT’) in 2019, for his advanced training and clinical abilities in Orthopaedic assessment, as well as manual therapeutic treatment techniques. Peter currently provides mentorship to other physiotherapists pursuing their Orthopaedic Division Syllabus Level courses.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Peter enjoys spending time with his loving wife and three beautiful children, frequenting the Toronto Zoo and exploring the beaches and parks of Southern Ontario. He enjoys meditating, gardening, cooking, sketching and photography.
